Joe Johnson is a partner at Floyd Zadkovich, focusing on commercial litigation and arbitrations and advising clients in complex commercial matters. With thirty years of experience, he helps clients navigate the complexities of international trade, including cross-border legal matters in the maritime and commodities fields. Joe’s experience includes matters involving alleged fraud in the shipping of commodities, alleged market manipulation in the trading of commodities, and the defense of threatened penalties and sanctions under various regulatory regimes.
Joe advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters, including contracts, disputes, and regulatory issues. He also has corporate law experience, including in the area of mergers and acquisitions. He has extensive experience in federal court and New York State court and has handled various international arbitration proceedings.
Joe is a 1994 graduate of Albany Law School of Union University and a 1991 graduate of the University of Rochester. He began his legal career as a clerk to the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court, Third Department. Thereafter, Joe became an appellate practitioner, perfecting and arguing more than forty appeals over a five year period. Since that time, Joe has handled a broad range of complex legal matters, with experience as both a commercial litigator and as a corporate attorney at the law firms of Paul Hastings LLP, Eaton & Van Winkle LLP, and Dunnington, Bartholow & Miller LLP.
