Joe Gosden is a Partner at Floyd Zadkovich. Joe is an experienced commercial lawyer specialising in disputes and advisory work arising out of the commodities, trade finance and shipping sectors.  Qualifying first as a solicitor and later a barrister, Joe acts for trading houses, energy companies and shipowners across a wide range of litigation and arbitration.  From multi-jurisdictional letter of credit claims to charterparty disputes, Joe works closely with longstanding clients to fight claims, find solutions and finesse complex structures.

Joe’s recent work focusses on sale contract, enforcement and financing matters, whilst maintaining a core shipping practice.  Regularly instructed by traders, charterers, price indexers and the insurers who stand behind them, Joe is adept at delivering results and managing the commercial interests involved.  Working closely with our US team, Joe has developed a particular expertise in matters relating to sanctions, including those against Russia and Iran as well as the interrelationship between competing international regimes.

Alongside his disputes work, Joe continues to structure offtake agreements, financings and prepurchase agreements with a particular specialism in the oil and fertiliser sectors.
