Edward Cole is Of Counsel at Floyd Zadkovich, practicing in international disputes in the shipping and commodities trading. With 15 years’ experience, he helps clients navigate the complexities of international trade, addressing cross-border legal challenges in energy, marine, and offshore disputes. He has a specific expertise in insurance coverage disputes arising out of these sectors, including offshore and large-scale construction claims. He has a niche practice advising on issues in the superyacht industry.

Edward advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters, including contract and policy wording. He is particularly adept at early resolution of claims, using his forensic experience to inform his approach to negotiations and alternative dispute resolution.

He holds a PhD on war risks insurance, and has contributed to practitioners’ works on Admiralty law, including on the Collision Regulations.

After initially practicing as self-employed counsel at a top ranked (Chambers & Partners) and Leading (Legal 500) barristers’ chambers, where he appeared as a led and sole advocate in a wide range of courts up to the Court of Appeal, Edward Cole worked in the Marine and International Trade department of a leading (Chambers & Partners) City firm, where he specialised in large and complex coverage disputes in the H&M, war risks, and energy markets, working closely with insurers. More recently, he has been noted in Legal 500 for Policyholder work, and he is equally at ease working with the market or with insureds.
