Andriy Shalennyy is a trainee solicitor at Floyd Zadkovich with focus on high-value commercial arbitration, High Court litigation, and bespoke transactional projects.
Andriy acts in arbitrations arising from international trade and shipping disputes. He is familiar with the LMAA and GAFTA arbitration rules and conversant with the LCIA and ICC rules.
Having wide-ranging experience in arbitration-related litigation, he has represented clients in applications for the enforcement of and challenge to arbitral awards, pursuant to Sections 66, 68 and 69 of the Arbitration Act 1996. He has also advised on the merits of applications challenging an award due to lack of jurisdiction and an application for security for costs and the award.
Andriy’s transactional experience lies in the fields of commodities, logistics and dry shipping. One highlight is acting for a major European energy company in negotiations for two long-term LNG sale and purchase agreements.
Andriy is knowledgeable in intricate aspects of decarbonisation legislation (e.g., FuelEU, EU ETS and MARPOL) and has drafted numerous bespoke decarbonisation charterparty provisions and presented on these topics to P&I Clubs and LNG trading houses.
